The second round of registration begins today, March 15th. Fifty-nine balloon crews have been confirmed to participate in the first round of registrations. Three spots have been awarded to pilots who won medals at previous championships: Clément Seigeot (France), Tomasz Filus (Poland), and Joe Heartsill (USA). Witold Filus (Poland) also received a special wildcard invitation.
The remaining spots in the second round will be allocated in accordance with FAI regulations, based on the federation's current international rankings.
Many renowned names in the world of ballooning will be present in Krosno in September. The registered competitors include nine pilots from the top ten of the FAI rankings:
